Here's a first draft for the UK timeline. It's only a workign plan so feel free to change anything you want.
1939
Oswald Moseley’s League of Fascists becomes the second party to Neville Chamberlain’s Conservatives.
1941
Through out the past two years many Tory MPs have defected to the League of Fascists, many more resigned their posts, often in dubious circumstances. The League of Fascists win enough by-elections to force a vote of no confidence and another election is called which they win.
1942
A five-year plan is announced to change Britain from a democracy into an autocracy. Mass riots follow and internment camps are built to contain the 'reds'. The royal family go into hiding somewhere in Scandinavia.
1944
After two years of rising bloodshed a military uprising takes control of the north of England and much of Scotland. The UK becomes embroiled in a civil war.
1945
Oswald Moseley is assassinated and his deputy and chosen successor Tobias Spring takes over control of Fascist Britain. The ageing ex politician Winston Churchill is made the chief of armed forces for, and by proxy the effective ruler of, Free Britain.
1946
Under the less effective rule of Spring the fascist movement starts to fragment and 'Free Britain' gains control of all of Scotland and starts to move further south, into the Midlands and Wales.
1948
After London is bombed Fascist Britain surrenders and Britain once again becomes a democracy. Queen Elizabeth returns to the throne.
1952
Erik Botochinni breaks the 100m-sprint record at the Olympics with a seemingly impossible 3.6 seconds. This sparks much scientific study, which increases as more and more 'super humans' come out of the woodwork.
1953
Britain officially recognises 'Super Humans' after a number of studies conclude that they do exist. They are given many more freedoms than normal citizens and are encouraged to follow in the footsteps of such 'super heroes' as Erik Botochinni (now calling him self The Azure Avenger) and Billy Zion.
1955
Britain is the planets only true Super Power but the USA is fast rising to her level, this causes tension between the two nations.
1956
A number of small fights take place between the UK and the US, notably over British owned Jamaica and American owned Costa Rica. Tensions between the two nations increase.
1957
Britain invades Hawaii and the conflict escalates until war is declared. Most supers from the two nations are conscripted into the army. The war encourages both nations to advance industrially.
1961
After four years of bloodshed neither side is able to gain the upper hand and so after long negotiations open hostility is brought to a cease on the signing of the Connecticut Treaty. However much hostility remains between the two sides and research into atomic weapons begin in earnest on both sides of the Atlantic. Many supers are still employed by the British armed forces to fight in the numerous 'fringe wars' that still rage, mostly in the Caribbean. Others carry out secret work for the government mostly aimed against the US.
1963
Britain publicly announces it's atomic programme shortly followed by America. The cold war begins.
1967
After the world is brought to the brink of an atomic armageddon mass public pressure causes Britain to abandon its atomic programme after signing the Aberdeen Treaty with the US. The summer of 1967 becomes known as the 'summer of love'
Britain's industries are suddenly in fluxed with super humans who can replace many 'normal' people. This starts a recession in Britain's economy.
1969
Britain's recession reaches crises point as it is estimated that one in four people are living below the poverty line. Hyper inflation starts. There are mass riots against supers.
1970
In a bid to save the British economy the government places severe restrictions on super humans working, this all but kills British Industry and the crises worsens. Many violent attacks are carried out against supers and when they retaliate there is public outcry. Fascist elements start to gain popularity again and another civil war is feared.
1971
When a mob attacks the Wing Commander he retaliates and kills three people, injuring dozens more. On the point of collapse the government orders the detention of all super humans.
1972
It is formally made illegal to be a super human and anyone showing signs of super powers are held in concentration camps. Britain’s economic decline begins to slow.
1974
Britain is beginning to come out of her depression.
1978
Britain is once again one of the world powers.
1980
A number of crimes are committed where super powers are suspected to be involved.
1981
A group of super villains called the Four Horseman come to public knowledge. The military are brought in to try and catch them, but to no avail.
1982
Queen Elizabeth is kidnapped by Lord War, one of the Four Horsemen. The SAS botch an attempt to rescue her and she is killed. King George VIII (the former Prince Charles) calls for the government to form a team of Super Heroes, his wishes are denied and it is claimed that there are enough super humans reeking havoc with out releasing more from the camps.
1983
After the New Houses of Parliament are destroyed (the old ones were bombed in the civil war) the government agrees. Team Britain is formed.
1984
Team Britain captures three of the Four Horsemen, only Captain Pestilence remains free and it is thought that he fled to the US. Pubic opinion begins to turn in favour of Super Heroes and instead of Team Britain being redetained, as was the original plan they are allowed to remain at large, fighting the myriad of other super villains that had been plaguing the nation. Although they remain strictly under government control.
1987
Team Britain are given more autonomy and in Scotland the Rampant Lions are formed.
1988
Even more super teams are formed around the UK.
1990
Government control over the super teams is loosened, although they are still banned from entering industry.
1999
The industrial ban on super humans is lifted and a slow integration is initiated. This is not greeted with enthusiasm from all corners.
2000
The People's Front political party is formed. It has inherited many of characteristics from its Fascist predecessors but is mainly concerned with the removal of super humans from industry; its slogan is Remember '71? It base is mainly in inner city town councils were unemployment is usually blamed on super humans.
2004
The PF gains its first seat in parliament. The New Conservative Party, who have just suffered another landslide defeat to Labor, rework its policies to draw a harder line against super humans, hoping to steal votes from the fast emerging 'new right'.
2006
The PF continues to gain popularity and the conservatives plan seems to have worked as they are projected to win the next election by a large margin. The bad feeling towards supers is not universal, but it is strong. Meanwhile Supers continue to try and find their feet in the modern world.
